How ratings work
How scores are shown and when they are hidden.
Draft wording based on the product requirements. Not final and not legal advice.
Who counts
Only published, moderated first-hand experiences with a checked tenancy connection count towards a score.
Fewer than 3
No score is shown. This means we don't know enough — never that a building is good or bad.
3 or 4
An average with one decimal, the number of experiences and a “Limited evidence” warning.
5 or more
An average, the number of experiences and how ratings are distributed.
Categories
Each category follows the same rule separately. There is no automatic weighting into the overall score.
Two separate counts
We always show the number of published first-hand experiences separately from the number with a checked connection.
What never counts
Questions, discussions and representative responses never create or change a score. Missing data is never treated as zero.
Who calculates
Scores are calculated by our server, never in your browser.
